The computer
is an increasingly important tool for the modern-day artist. As digital
technology becomes more powerful and versatile, skilled computer artists
are in ever greater demand. Career opportunities in this field are growing,
because of the need for strong computer skills in design studios, corporate
art departments, publishing, broadcasting, film and video production
facilities.
In
the animation/digital media program at CCS, you'll learn about every
aspect of computer art, including basic programming, 2-D and 3-D animation,
digital imaging, Web page design and interactive multimedia. As you
advance in the major, you'll use photography and video to explore the
theory and practice of light, sound and movement. During your final
year, you'll develop a senior project, emphasizing a selected aspect
of computer art and animation.
At CCS you'll
use the latest in computer technology and software. We offer access
to Power Macintosh, Dual Pentium and SGI computers in six computer labs.
You can explore 3-D design applications on one of the newest high-performance
computers available today at our Intergraph TDZ workstation lab. For
design animation, modeling and rendering, we offer access to 3-D Studio
Max and Alias/Wavefront software.
