Employment Opportunities
The Career Resource Center, which is located in the Office of Student Affairs, supports both current students and alumni in their search for full-time, part-time, freelance, and summer employment opportunities. The Career Counselor works to aid students and graduates in establishing career / job possibilities through the following activities: an on-campus recruitment program, Career Fairs, the Job Book, and a resume referral service to open positions.

During the 1997 - 1998 school year, over 40 employers participated in conducting interviews / portfolio review during an on-campus recruitment visit, or during one of the two Career Fairs held in the spring. During these events, employers were looking at candidates to fill both full-time and internship positions. Additionally, employers conducted informational presentations to interested students. Examples of employers participating in these activities included:

• Fisher Price (Toy company)
• Steel Case Wood (Furniture Company)
Fitch, Inc. (Product design firm)
Design Forum (Exhibit and product design company)
• Design Craftsmen (Attraction / museum exhibit firm)
• Detroit Newspapers (Newspaper)
• IBM (Computer firm)
• Sigma 6 (Multi-media and art studio)
• Mars Advertising (Advertising agency)
• Entertainment Publications (Graphic design)
• McCann-Erickson (Advertising agency, New York)

The Job Book is available for both current students and alumni. The Job Book has sections for each of the seven (7) departments at the Center for Creative Studies. Each section houses job opportunities including freelance, part-time, and full-time positions. Additionally, the Career Counselor coordinates a resume referral service to assist employers in finding appropriate candidates to fill open positions.
