Freshman Applicants

  • Completed application with the $35 application fee.
  • Official high school transcript with a minimum 2.5 grade point average. Applicants having earned a GED must submit official results of the test scores. (A minimum of a 55 composite is required.)
  • The American College Test (ACT) or Scholastics Aptitude Test (SAT) scores. (If GED is submitted, SAT or ACT are not required.)
  • Minimum ten-piece portfolio. Actual work is preferred. Applicants outside the 250- mile radius, or whose actual work is not available, may submit slides.
  • Personal interview if you live within a 250-mile radius; otherwise a telephone interview is acceptable.

Applicants who are unable to meet these requirements are encouraged to complete one full-time semester or quarter (minimum of 12 semester credit hours) in a general liberal arts program at an accredited college or through the CCS Extension Program and maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average prior to seeking admission. Occasionally students are considered for admission on a conditional basis after an interview and careful review of the portfolio and academic information.
